Programmed Activities Seminar

The curricular components Seminar on Programmed Activities I (Master’s) and Seminar on Programmed Activities II (Doctorate) are mandatory requirements for scheduling and carrying out a dissertation or thesis defense.

The Evaluation Committee for the reports corresponding to the Seminar of Programmed Activities component will be made up of 3 (three) professors who are part of the PPGH – UFC faculty, which will express itself, in the final result, through one of the following concepts: SATISFACTORY or INSATISFACTORY.

The maximum deadline for submitting the Master’s and Doctorate Programmed Activities reports to the PPGH – UFC Secretariat, according to the model available in the Documents and Forms menu, is 20 (twenty) months for the Master’s degree and 44 (forty-four) months for the Doctorate, starting from the student’s entry into the course (check the month and year of entry into the PPGH – UFC in their academic transcript).

* The Evaluation Committee requires that reports, forms, vouchers, etc., be compiled and sent by email in a single pdf file.

Basic Requirements

Seminar on Programmed Activities I (Master’s Degree)

These are the minimum requirements that must be included in the Report of the Seminar of Programmed Activities I (Master’s Degree) component, in order to obtain the SATISFACTORY concept:

1. Participation in the activities developed by the Program (lectures, courses, seminars, workshops, public dissertation and thesis defenses);
2. Registration in a CNPq research group or in a UFC History Department project (Declaration by the leader);
3. Participation in at least 2 (two) academic events, in the form of research communication, with presentation of a paper and publication of an abstract;
4. Publication of at least two papers related to the master’s research, which can be distributed as follows: (1) two full texts in the annals of an academic event; or (2) one full text in the annals of an event and one article in a qualis B3 journal or one full text in a book chapter in the field of History. In the case of a book or book chapter, the examining committee is responsible for evaluating the publication according to academic criteria.

Seminar of Programmed Activities II (Doctorate)

The minimum requirements for obtaining a SATISFACTORY concept in the Seminar on Programmed Activities II component are:

1. Participation in the activities developed by the Program (lectures, courses, seminars, workshops, public dissertation and thesis defenses);
2. Registration in a CNPq research group or in a UFC History Department project (Declaration by the leader);
3. Participation in at least 3 (three) academic events, in the form of research communication, with presentation of a paper and publication of an abstract;

4. Publication or proof of acceptance of at least 1 (one) full article, related to the doctoral research, in a journal with a minimum Qualis B4 rating for the area of History;
5. Publication of at least 1 (one) full text, related to the doctoral research, in the annals of an academic event or 1 (one) book chapter. In the case of a book or book chapter, the examining committee is responsible for evaluating the publication according to academic criteria.

ATTENTION: The master’s and doctoral student’s report must be detailed and accompanied by supporting documents (statements of attendance or actual involvement in the activities, certificates of participation in events, photocopies of the title page and front page of articles in journals or proceedings, etc.). The report must include the supervisor’s detailed opinion. All in pdf format and in a single file.

Omissions will be assessed by the examining committee for the Programmed Activities Seminar reports, as established in the PPGH – UFC Internal Regulations.
