Undertaking a Postdoctoral Program at the PPGH-UFC
Participating in a Postdoctoral Program at the Graduate Program in History (PPGH) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) is understood as a means of fostering the effective integration of the postdoctoral researcher with the faculty as well as with both graduate and undergraduate students. In this sense, it is of interest to the PPGH-UFC that the postdoctoral researcher becomes part of one of the existing research groups, taking part in the group’s proposed activities with the aim of contributing to the deepening of academic discussions.
Considering the diverse objectives of postdoctoral researchers at different stages of their careers, the Program seeks to adapt itself in order to accommodate the interests of the researchers.
Some activities are considered essential for the postdoctoral researcher’s involvement with the PPGH-UFC. These include:
1. Presentation of a seminar related to the project submitted by the postdoctoral researcher.
2. Participation in an elective course at either undergraduate or graduate level.
3. Participation in events organized by the PPGH and the UFC Department of History.
4. It is recommended that the researcher publish in a reputable academic journal. All articles, abstracts, and presentations must indicate participation in the Program.
Postdoctoral Admission Process
The admission process for the postdoctoral program involves two initial stages:
a) The candidate submits the required documentation to the PPGH-UFC Board;
b) The PPGH-UFC Board evaluates the relevance of the proposed research and either approves or rejects the request to undertake a Voluntary Postdoctoral Fellowship.
