Use of studies/credits
The use of studies/credits includes the use of credits that take into account the workload without affecting the calculation of the student’s GPA. The activities (proficiency, programmed activity seminars, teaching internships, thesis and dissertation) are not subjects, so the credits are not used.
. To request the use of credits, the student must send the following documents to the PPGH secretariat by e-mail (pghist@ufc.br)
Request for the use of credits;
Academic transcript;
Syllabus and/or programme of the subjects taken (except for the use of subjects taken at PPGH – UFC).

According to Resolution No. 17/CEPE, of 4 December 2015, which establishes the General Norms for Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programmes at the Federal University of Ceará, credits obtained in curricular components of other stricto sensu postgraduate programmes recognised and recommended by CAPES, or obtained abroad, may be used, provided that the criteria and limits established in the internal regulations of each programme are respected. In addition, the grade of the curricular component taken in another stricto sensu postgraduate programme that is the subject of the use of studies will be maintained. In the case of a concept, it will be converted into a grade in the manner laid down in the internal regulations of each programme.
And according to the PPGH regulations
Art. 21 – At the discretion of the Programme Coordination, regularly enrolled students may attend courses of other stricto sensu postgraduate programmes recommended by CAPES or take advantage of postgraduate course credits obtained at institutions abroad.
Sole Paragraph – A maximum of 8 (eight) of the total credits obtained under the conditions referred to in the caput of this article will be considered among those required to obtain a Master’s degree and 24 (twenty-four) to obtain a Doctorate.
