Defence (face-to-face, remote or hybrid)
General Information
The defence of a dissertation or thesis is a public presentation of the work. Please indicate whether the defence is face-to-face, remote or hybrid. If it is remote or hybrid, the supervisor or student will generate the link in the session using the UFC email address and provide it to us for publication.
To schedule the dissertation or thesis defence session, the student must send the Programme (pghist@ufc.br) the Dissertation or Thesis Defence Request Form (in PDF format), duly completed and signed by the student, to the Secretariat’s email address, along with the following information
Title of the dissertation or thesis project, abstract, keywords, number of pages and cpf/email/IES of the external members only.
Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for correction.
It is not necessary to send the printed version of the thesis to the Secretariat; the student sends the thesis in pdf format to the members of the Committee and if anyone wants it printed, the student arranges for it to be printed.
The formatting of the dissertation or thesis should follow the UFC Guide to Standardising Academic Work.
-Important information for after the defence:
The final thesis must be in PDF/A format to be sent to the UFC Institutional Repository (new rule).
Send it in this new format to pghist@ufc.br with the title Final work for the repository.
