Translation into English:
The Graduate Program in History (PPGH) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) conducts the selection process for admission to its Master’s and Doctoral programs on an annual basis. This process is regulated by a call for applications that outlines all stages of application, selection, and enrollment, ensuring transparency, academic rigor, and equal opportunities for all candidates.
Applications and Stages of the Selection Process
Applications are carried out online in two stages:
- Registration and submission of documents through UFC’s academic system (SIGAA), where applicants enter their personal information and upload the documents required by the call for applications.
- Submission by email of the research proposal, letter of intent, and proof of application, thereby formalizing participation in the selection process.
Evaluation and Selection Criteria
The selection process consists of two eliminatory phases:
- Evaluation of the Research Proposal, based on criteria such as the relevance of the topic, clarity of the research object, and alignment with the chosen research line.
- Oral Examination of the Research Proposal, during which the candidate presents and defends the project before a qualified examination committee composed of faculty members of the Program.
Opportunities for National and International Applicants
The call for applications provides for the participation of both Brazilian and international applicants, including requirements for documentary proof and compliance with visa regulations for international students, reinforcing the inclusive and plural nature of the admission process.
Admission through International Programs
In addition to the regular selection process, the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Ceará (PPGH-UFC) also accepts students through international academic cooperation programs, further strengthening its internationalization efforts and academic exchange.
- PAEC/OEA (Program of Alliances for Education and Training of the Organization of American States), aimed at the education of students from OAS member countries;
- PECPG (Graduate Student Exchange Program), promoted by the Brazilian Government and intended for international candidates from developing countries with which Brazil maintains educational and cultural agreements.
Admissions through these modalities follow the specific regulations of each program, as well as the institutional rules of UFC and the PPGH. Participation in these programs reinforces PPGH-UFC’s commitment to the internationalization of graduate education, academic diversity, and the strengthening of research networks in History.
