About us
UFC’s Graduate Program in Social History has established itself as a center for research, debate, and reflection, awarding degrees in history and its related fields. The program allows students to deepen their proposed discussions and generate academic work that broadens the horizons of historical and historiographical knowledge. It has provided historians with professional training opportunities at various levels of education, particularly in higher education institutions, and has opened up new and promising areas of research within government agencies and diverse institutions.
From 2011 to late 2023, a total of 147 doctoral theses and 78 post-doctoral theses were defended within the framework of the program, constituting significant reference material for new research, some of which has already been published in books, articles, and journals in both academic and non-academic settings. Together with the output of students, the achievements of our faculty consistently demonstrate the level of excellence reached by the program as a space for reflection on history and for stimulating intellectual production.
Our mission
The program aims to train researchers in various fields of historical knowledge, stimulate local historiographical production, strengthen the relationship between teaching, research, and academic outreach in the field of history, and enhance the scientific and professional competence of researchers, teachers, and graduates in history and related fields, up to the doctoral and master’s levels.
Coordination/Administration
The program is led by a coordinator and a deputy coordinator, with its day-to-day affairs managed by two civil servants.
